                     Welcome!

  Emergency Preparedness "FIRST"

Our Mission

To provide you with the BEST VALUE, and the MOST UPDATED TRAINING

ANYWHERE - ANYTIME

Company Profile

I would like to start off by informing everyone that:

ALL APPROVED training agencies in Ontario must include the same basic course content set by the Provincial WSIB of Ontario.

Emergency Preparedness "FIRST"  is an APPROVED training agency

for EMP Canada (Medic First Aid) and the National Safety Council.

We go well beyond the required content.

We are a group of dedicated professionals (doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters) who want to help you to help yourself and others during an Emergency. We have over 200 years of combined hands on experience in the field of Emergency Medicine and teaching.

We are members of the Wilderness Medical Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, National Safety Council, Canadian Safety Council, various SAR associations, Emergency Room Physicians, BTLS, ACLS, Canadian Ski Patrol, Ontario EMS, and the Fire Service.

Quotes from most folks are the same; We have taken a number of courses in the past but your courses are the MOST FUN and ENJOYABLE, which is not an easy task when you are dealing with blood, guts and death. You all tell it as it is which makes learning real, more retrainable, and useable.

My name is Michael McKinney BSc.

I worked 6 years as a U. S. Army Combat Medic around the world.
19 years as a Paramedic, Firefighter / Instructor Trainer with different EMS systems teaching Emergency Medicine to Firefighters / EMTs, Search & Rescue, schools, industries, coaches, parents, grandparents, care givers, baby-sitters and anyone interested.

I am the owner and Chief Instructor Trainer for

Emergency Preparedness "FIRST"  (EPF)

All WSIB training programs are video based story lines.

Stories help to learn, I am a story teller!!!

I am honored to be our regions CPR Instructor Trainer for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and a Senior Instructor for the National & Canadian Safety Council.

I enjoy the challenge of making First Aid / CPR
FUN and UNDERSTANDABLE explaining the why's to all the treatments, and the basics of how our bodies work. I encourage thinking, input and feed back. That way the courses can keep getting better and better.
Being a health freak and a quasi Homeopath I promote natural healing with different herbs instead of pharmaceuticals whenever possible.

Drugs should be used only as a LAST resort and under Medical direction.

I want to thank you for checking out our place in space.

Happy Trails, and Many Saves enjoy
